TangoTia grew up during the Golden Age of tango in La Boca (the birth place of tango). After her mother died of the plague and her father abandoned her, she learned to dance tango as a means of survival. At a milonga she fell in love with a rich entrepreneur who promised to put her in show business. However, he was neither rich nor had any show connections and disappeared, leaving her with a son–who later vanished during the “Dirty Wars”. Despondent, TangoTia traveled to the U.S. to immerse herself in the culture of the current U.S. tango craze. From her lengthy career, she has intimate knowledge of the people, places and angst of tango and provides a no nonsense approach with her sage advice to the tango forlorn.
