This is the ultimate instructional video for those of you just starting, or wanting to start Argentine Tango. I’ve been thinking about and planning this video for the last four years. Because of the complexity and variety of authentic Argentine Tango, the beginner student can be very confused about all the different methods and styles used in this dance. Rather than trying to teach basic step patterns right away, this video shows the basic elements (vocabulary) used by all dancers regardless of the style they dance in. Then, several patterns are developed from these basic elements, and finally a few basic syncopated and cross-foot patterns are shown with emphasis on the correct technique for lead and follow. This video runs just over one hour. The following is a breakdown of the instructional material presented on this video.
